Coldplay Fans Find 'Paradise' During 'Today' Set
Band can't make up its mind on the meaning of new album title Mylo Xyloto, and fans struggle to pronounce it for MTV News.

NEW YORK -- Thousands of Coldplay fans wrapped around a dark Rockefeller Plaza on Friday morning (October 21) waiting to get into the group's "Today" show performance.
While most woke up before sunrise, some even camped out overnight to catch the seven-time Grammy-winning band perform. Coldplay satisfied their fans' hunger, performing past hits like "Fix You" and "Viva la Vida" along with new singles "Paradise" and "Every Tear Drop Is a Waterfall."
Two early birds from Long Island missed part of their school day to catch the free show. "We woke up at 4 a.m., missed the train, took another train," Rebecca Monachelli, 17, said. When asked if her parents were aware, the teen laughed, "My mom was the one who suggested to come here today!"
A spray-painted set, in the identical colors of Coldplay's new album cover, lit up the plaza as dawn approached. When "Today" co-anchor Matt Lauer asked about the set, frontman Chris Martin admitted, "It's just random and fun. It's just us throwing caution to the wind, we know it looks kind of amateur, but it comes from the heart."
The band's fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, due Tuesday, is said to be the band's most electronic album yet.
MTV News took to the plaza to talk with fans and test their ability to pronounce the album title. Most fans laughed as they stumbled over the words Mylo Xyloto, while others confidently let it out.
When the band was asked about the meaning behind the title, Martin said, "It doesn't really mean anything. It just means a group of four English people who are trying to come up with something that had no other association ... one day hopefully it'll mean something."
Lauer quoted the band from a New York Times article, in which Martin had been quoted, "We came up with the idea of, what if you had musical digits, like xylo toes?"
Martin smiled before responding, "I said that, but now I don't mean that anymore. We're still trying to figure out what to say. We should have figured it out before we came on national TV."

'Hunger Games' Cast Is 'Amazing,' Stanley Tucci Says
Actor promises a 'bizarre' Caesar Flickerman, just like in the books.

"Wait till you see Stanley Tucci do Caesar Flickerman," teased "Hunger Games" director Gary Ross back in August as MTV News was getting set to debut first-look footage from the upcoming adaptation of the best-selling young-adult series.
We had to wait then — the teaser only showcased Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen — and we continue to wait to finally peep Tucci as Flickerman, the flamboyantly attired interviewer who chats with each tribute before the start of the gladiatorial competition known as the Hunger Games. But whenever fans do get to check out Flickerman, they can be sure the character will stay true to the guy readers are familiar with from Suzanne Collins' novels.
How do we know? Tucci told us himself.
"Absolutely it [stays true]. Blue hair. Very bizarre," the actor said while promoting his upcoming drama about the mortgage crisis "Margin Call."
Earlier this year, Tucci was in England shooting "Jack the Giant Killer" when he began to map out his Flickerman look. "We had wigs made there," he said. "I had some noses made, which we ended up not using and teeth and a whole bunch of different things. When I got to North Carolina [to shoot 'Hunger Games'], we played around for about seven hours and we started shooting the next day. I was only there for about a week, but it was fantastic."
One of the scenes he shot was the pre-Games interviews with Lawrence's Katniss and Josh Hutcherson's Peeta Mellark, who confesses his love for Katniss during the chat. Both Lawrence and Hutcherson, Tucci said, pulled off the pivotal scene with an aplomb that defied their years.
"She was amazing," he said. "They were all amazing. She's just so good and so mature at such a young age. It was really fun. Really fun. And Gary, he's great."

Britney Spears Remix Album 'Shines New Light' On EDM
B in the Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2, out Tuesday, features Tiësto's 'timeless' take on 'Piece of Me.'

On Britney Spears' latest release, B in the Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2, which dropped Tuesday (October 11), a group of dance music's biggest names have put their stamp on some of the singer's most-popular tunes from the past few years.
Chopped, screwed and broken down, the songs reach new extremes. "It's cool that big mainstream pop artists let their music be remixed by people in the underground, like me," Kaskade, who contributed his version of "Gimme More," told MTV News. "It shines a new light on the EDM scene and how far it can reach. I give Britney props for taking chances and letting dance music be heard by the masses."
Kaskade is one of many EDM artists who appear on the album. He and other DJs who contributed say it's been a gratifying experience.
"She's been a pop icon for so long. I appreciate a lot of the values she brings to music," Cobra Starship's Alex Suarez explained. "She sings really well. I appreciate her talents. I definitely respect what she does and why she's successful.
"I'm impressed people stick by her, and when I got the opportunity, I was like, 'Wow.' Britney Spears is huge. She's a huge name worldwide.' "
Suarez remixed "Till the World Ends" and said he didn't want to go too far off course for his take on the Femme Fatale single. "I thought the original was really good to begin with," he explained. "I thought I wanted to make this as special as I can. I tried to stick true to the structure of the song.
"Sometimes, you get remixes and they chop it up and mix it around, which is cool. The thing with a Britney Spears remix is people like to sing along."
Kaskade explained that he was "excited at the chance to get to mess with" "Gimme More," and he wanted to make sure his remix worked with his musical style. "I wanted to make sure that it would be something that would eventually fit into my live set," he said. "That is the true test for me: Taking a huge pop vocal and making it work with my music can be a little tricky, but I find the challenge fun. I really dig what Brit does, and this song is awesome, so I was really excited."
The album is a blend of old and new remixes: EDM superstar Tiësto, who banked his "Piece of Me" remix ages before, said it's cool to be included. "That already happened like four or five years ago. That remix is pretty old, but it's funny they put it on the album 'cause it's a timeless remix," Tiësto told MTV News. "I was always proud of that remix, because the opinions about Britney are different, but what I did with that remix is pretty special. The melody, the atmosphere is totally different than the original. For me, it's always been a special remix. I'm glad they added that on the album."
The track list also includes "Radar" (Tonal Club Remix), "Womanizer" (Benny Benassi Extended), "Circus" (Linus Loves Remix), "If U Seek Amy" (U-Tern Remix), "3" (Manhattan Clique Club Remix), "I Wanna Go" (Gareth Emery Remix) and "Criminal" (Radio Mix).

I went to the premiere on Tuesday and it was the coolest thing ever. First, the movie is AMAZING and Chris Evans is a superstar. Second, there were so many damn people there it was insane. I have been to movie premieres in New York before and they were nothing like this. I mean, they closed down Hollywood Boulevard. I would've taken photos to show you, but the invite said to leave phones in the car. But here's a photo of me in my cool Captain America 3D glasses:

New Led Zeppelin On The Way? Jason Bonham Hints At 'Jam' Sessions With Jimmy Page -- But Not Robert Plant
Drummer admits he doesn't know what will come of 'new material.'

On Friday morning, mere hours before he was due to take the stage with classic rockers Foreigner at Detroit's GM Renaissance Center, drummer Jason Bonham — the son of late Led Zeppelin kitman John Bonham — told Jim Johnson and Lynne Woodison of local rock station 94.7 WCSX that he'd be an ex-member of Foreigner as of September 1. But that's not the only thing he said.
Much to the delight of Led Zeppelin fans everywhere, Bonham revealed that he's been meeting up with Led Zep guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones in recent months and that they've been "trying to do some new material and writing."
It was the first time since Led Zeppelin announced they would re-form for a single performance (which happened late last year at London's O2 Arena, in honor of the late Ahmet Ertegün, who signed the band to Atlantic Records in 1969) that anyone connected to the band has confirmed publicly that new music could be on the horizon for the iconic rockers. While the bandmembers have stopped short of definitively ruling out such a reunion, singer Robert Plant insisted in the wake of last year's show that he intended to focus on promoting and touring behind his critically lauded album with bluegrass artist Alison Krauss, Raising Sand.
Not that Bonham knows what — if anything — will happen with the new material he's been working on with Page (who collaborated with pop singer Leona Lewis on an uneven version of Zep's "Whole Lotta Love" at the Olympic closing ceremonies in Beijing on Sunday night) and Jones. He said he just shows up and takes his seat behind the kit.
"I've been over [to England] a couple of times," Bonham said. "I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying to do ... some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something. At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material. When I get there, I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it. Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me. It's my life. It's what I've dreamed about doing."
He said it's still too early to tell what will become of these "jam" sessions, but admitted that the "possibility of doing something is in the cards. I really felt it was in the cards from the moment we walked offstage at the O2." Bonham also explained that, before there could be a Led Zep LP, "lots of politics [would need to] get ironed out," but added that recording with Zep is "something I've always wanted to do."
Bonham noticeably didn't mention frontman Plant's name during the discussion. A spokesperson for Page's management had no comment on the matter, and a spokesperson for Jones' management could not be reached by press time.

Justin Bieber Joins Fans Under The Mistletoe For 'MTV First'

On Tuesday night (October 18), Justin Bieber kicked off the Christmas season two months early when he sat down with MTV News during "MTV First: Justin Bieber" to talk about his new holiday-themed album, Under the Mistletoe, and premiere his video for the album's first single, "Mistletoe."
The Roman White-directed video features Bieber and his leading lady, Allie Williams, getting romantic in Franklin, Tennessee, where the video was shot last month. "It was different because, like, it's a Christmas video, so you gotta get your Christmas spirit on," he said of having to pretend it was the holiday season months before the jingle bells actually start ringing. "We had Santa there. He was kind of interesting, because he had this finger that would light up, but I never knew that, so he would come up to me randomly and point at me and his finger lit up, and it was really strange. I was like, 'Santa doesn't do that, my friend.' "
So has Bieber ever kissed anyone under the mistletoe, like he does in the romantic video? "No," he revealed. "Except in the 'Mistletoe' video. Maybe I'll be able to someday."
During the show, White spoke to MTV News via Skype and recalled being on set with Bieber, whom he also worked with on the 2009 video for "One Less Lonely Girl." White explained that the video was influenced by John Hughes '80s flicks like "Pretty in Pink" and "Sixteen Candles." "It was great," White gushed. "He's a lot of fun. It's the second time I've worked with him, so we already kind of knew each other a little bit.
"He was a little older, a little taller and his hair was a little shorter," he laughed. "He's a lot of fun, and he taught me some dance moves. We had a blast. What can I say? I learned how to Dougie from one of the Dougie originators."
Considering the video was shot in September, White made sure the set was very Christmas-like. "I love Christmas. ... We had all these huge snow machines. We had Santa Claus there. All this snow everywhere. It was really crazy," he explained. "It felt like Christmas."
The general consensus of fans in the studio was that Bieber definitely created a Christmas classic with the island-tinged tune. "Well, I'm jealous," Kelsie said of Bieber's kiss in the video, adding that she was floored by Bieber's growth as an artist. "It was so great. It's so great to see how much personality he puts into it and compare him to how it is now [from where he was], it's amazing. It's inspiring."
Under the Mistletoe features duets with a variety of stars, like Mariah Carey, Usher, Busta Rhymes, the Band Perry and Boyz II Men, who appear on the song "Fa La La." "We take that very, very highly," Boyz II Men's Nathan Morris told us during "MTV First." "I think he's a great artist overall. The kid can sing. [Our song has] got a nice little grove to it. The track is actually pretty nice. It doesn't sound like a hokey Christmas song."
The album hits stores November 1, and Bieber was inspired by a certain food rather than a certain mood when it came to writing tracks for it. "It's different, because you've gotta think Christmastime. You've gotta think, 'What's at Christmas? Mistletoe, reindeer, Santa, all these things.' And especially when it's not Christmastime, it's hard to really get your mind around it," he said. "But once you get into it, like, I was really thinking it was Christmastime when I was writing this album. ... We had Christmas cookies [in the studio]."

Sarah Hyland Says Adele Saved Her Life
Sarah Hyland owes Adele a special thank you. Not for getting her through a difficult break up, like so many fans of the British singer's emotional album 21, but for possibly saving her life.
The Modern Family actress, 20, credits the Grammy winner's song "Someone Like You" with indirectly keeping her from a fatal car accident.
Hyland told E! News that she and her boyfriend, actor Matt Prokop, were driving during a particularly heavy rainstorm on L.A.'s freeway last week when he temporarily lost control of the car.
"It was so foggy you couldn't see ten feet ahead of you," she said. "He had an audition and we were going through lines. He would have been focusing on remembering his lines (but) 'Someone Like You' came on the radio, so we blasted it to sing along to it. And then we hit a water pocket...The wheels turned to the right and locked and then it spun."
But somehow, Hyland explains, she and Prokop were uninjured despite spinning around in the car several frightening times.
"We were just really shaken up," she says, adding, "It's like, 'Thank you for saving my life!'"
Sounds like Adele has two more grateful fans in L.A.

Michael Jackson Doctor Called Girlfriend As MJ Died
Three of Dr. Conrad Murray's former girlfriends take the stand Tuesday.

Prosecutors in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, called one of the cardiologist's girlfriends to the stand Tuesday (October 4) in an attempt to nail down what Murray was doing as his famous client was dying of cardiac arrest.
Houston, Texas, steakhouse waitress Sade Anding told the jury that six minutes into a phone call with Murray on June 25, 2009, Murray suddenly disappeared as she was telling him about her day. "I realized he was no longer on the phone," she said of the call that took place less than a half-hour before Murray placed a frantic call to Jackson's assistant asking for help. At one point, she described hearing coughing, mumbling and other voices on Murray's end, as if his phone was in his pocket. The call was one of a half-dozen that phone records show Murray made during a crucial time when prosecutors say he should have been monitoring Jackson's vital signs closely.
Other testimony on Tuesday:
» Another woman, Michelle Bella, said she got a text message from Murray that morning, and an employee of the doctor said she exchanged eight minutes' worth of calls with him during the final hours of Jackson's life.
» Murray's current girlfriend and the mother of one of his seven children, Nicole Alvarez, 29, at first denied knowing that the doctor was pulling down $150,000 a month for treating Jackson. She said she met Jackson in 2008 and that she spent time with the pop star and Murray several more times after their son was born in 2009. Alvarez also testified that by June 2009, Murray was leaving their apartment at 9 p.m. almost every night and returning in the morning and that she signed for packages in April, May and June of 2009 but didn't know they contained the powerful anesthetic propofol. She told prosecutors that she planned to travel with Murray to England for Jackson's planned string of 50 This Is It shows.
» Alvarez said she spoke to Murray as the doctor rode in the ambulance to the hospital with Jackson's body, one of four calls the two exchanged on the afternoon of the singer's death.
» ABC News reported that none of the propofol bottles recovered from Jackson's room had the pop star's fingerprints on them, a detail that may deal a blow to the emerging defense theory that Jackson dosed himself with the surgical anesthetic while Murray was out of the room and caused his own death
» Pharmacist Tim Lopez told prosecutors he sent Murray 225 vials of propofol in total, as well as 20 vials of lorazepam and 60 of midazolam in April 2009, with some sent to a Santa Monica address that was likely the apartment the doctor shared with Alvarez.
Murray has pleaded not guilty to the charge of involuntary manslaughter. He faces four years in prison and the loss of his medical license.

Julianne Hough Footloose Interview
Julianne Hough may seem like the sweet, girl-next-door type, but (like the song says!) she still likes to cut loose. And for the Footloose star, that means doing her own stunts.
So it makes sense that Hough was a little disappointed that they decided not to recreate the iconic scene where her character Ariel, the wild preacher's daughter, stands on top of two moving cars in the classic 1984 original.
"I was bummed that I couldn't do that because I'm an adrenaline junkie," the 23-year-old actress tells iVillage. But luckily her role in the Footloose remake (in theaters Oct. 14) wasn't completely danger-free. "My thing that we did in this version was hanging out of the racecar -- that was like reckless Ariel. That was amazing, and I got to do that stunt by myself...It was scary!"
But it was more than just the action scenes that made making the movie intimidating. Hough and costar Kenny Wormald recognized that it was risky to remake such a well-known film.
"We understand," Wormald says. "We were huge fans of the original, so we knew it was a daunting task to try to take a new stab at it. But we did it justice."

Justin Bieber Confirms Mariah Carey Christmas Collabo
'I think a lot of you are already surprised by this and you're going to be even more surprised when you hear it,' Carey says in video message.

After much speculation, Justin Bieber confirmed that the Queen of the Christmas song, Mariah Carey, will appear on his holiday album, Under the Mistletoe.
And to make it even more special, the pair re-recorded her classic track "All I Want for Christmas" for the album. In the lead-up to the announcement of the collabo, Bieber kept his Twitter followers guessing about who the special guest for the album — which is already filled with a number of big names — might be.
"Oh yeah ...didn't I promise everyone I would tell them who my last special guest is on my christmas album #UnderTheMistletoe ??? #nov1st I mean we know we got my big bro @UsherRaymondIV and @thebandperry and @BusaBusss and @BoyzIIMen on the album ... but who is the last guest??" he teased his loyal followers. "Who is the living legend that I got on the album???? #UnderTheMistletoe #Nov1st."
After his followers offered their guesses, Bieber offered this hint: "I mean, the fact that I might be singing with one of the greatest voices ever, one of the greatest songs of christmas ever ...... #NOV1st." Before the big reveal, he tweeted out a link to a video message from the singer, then added, "Well like I said ... #UnderTheMistletoe is not your normal christmas album. right @mariahcarey. #NOV1st."
In the video message, while being her usual over-the-top diva self, Carey said, "I'm very excited about it. I think a lot of you are already surprised by this and you're going to be even more surprised when you hear it."
A full track list for Bieber's Under the Mistletoe also hit the Net. The album will include "Only Thing I Ever Get for Christmas," the first single, "Mistletoe," "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)" featuring Usher, "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," "Fa La La" featuring Boyz II Men, "Christmas Love," "All I Want for Christmas Is You" with Mariah Carey, "Little Drummer Boy" featuring Busta Rhymes, "All I Want Is You," "Christmas Eve" and "Home This Christmas" featuring the Band Perry.
The deluxe edition will include an a cappella version of "Fa La La," as well as "Silent Night," "Pray" and "Someday at Christmas."
Tricky Stewart, who produced the album, shared with MTV News the one song he felt needed to make it on the record. "For me, I knew I wanted 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,' " he said. "That's one of those that makes everyone feel good. So we did it and I think it's a really cool version of it."

Pet Tags
Man, I'm so irritated.
I just received four pets tags that I ordered for Bev and Mary Margaret (two for Brooklyn and two for LA) and they're all messed up. Not only did they leave off the "Margaret" on Mary Margaret's tags, but the text isn't centered correctly and runs off the right side on all four of them. (The last letter of the address is cut in half.) The tags themselves are also ugly. The edges aren't smoothed out... they look like someone just cut them from a piece of sheet metal and called it a day.
So anyway, I got them this morning on my way to Starbucks (yesterday's mail), so while I was there, I started drafting a strongly-worded letter in my head, like what I was going to say to these people when I sent them back.
And then I saw it.
In tiny print on the bottom of the invoice it said, "Our handicapped employees appreciate your order."
So now I can't send them back. If I did I'd be a total asshole.
I'm just going to order new ones from someplace else. Any recommendations?

Michael Jackson Showed 'No Signs Of Life' When EMTs Arrived
ER doctor, medical-equipment expert and a former patient of Dr. Conrad Murray's all testify on day four of manslaughter trial.

The prosecution presented more incriminating evidence and witness testimony during day four in the manslaughter trial against former Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray.
Witnesses who took the stand Friday (September 30) included medical-equipment expert Bob Johnson; Robert Russell, a former patient of Murray's; paramedics Richard Senneff and Martin Blount; and ER doctor Richelle Cooper.
Johnson's testimony proved to be particularly interesting in that he claimed the device Murray was using to monitor Jackson's pulse and blood oxygen level, a pulse oximeter, was an inferior model that did not feature an alarm that would have alerted Murray to Jackson's cardiac arrest the moment it occurred. The alarm feature is a point of contention for the prosecution because they intend to prove that Murray showed gross negligence in administering a dose of the highly potent anesthetic propofol and then leaving Jackson in a room alone, attached to a device that lacked the proper monitoring capabilities.
Johnson was followed by Russell, a patient who Murray operated on twice after he suffered a heart attack and had to have several stents placed in his heart. Russell testified that while he was pleased with the results of his surgeries, Murray became unresponsive and distant in June 2009, when he canceled two follow-up appointments with Russell. The last time he had any contact with Murray was via a voicemail the doctor left claiming Russell's heart was "repaired" and that he was leaving on sabbatical. The message was left approximately 30 minutes before Jackson's bodyguard Alberto Alvarez called 911.
Fireman and paramedic Richard Senneff took the stand next to discuss the specific details involved in his attempts to resuscitate Jackson on the day of his death, particularly the fact that had Murray called 911 at the moment he found Jackson unconscious, the EMTs might have been able to save him. Senneff explained that when he arrived on the scene, only four minutes after they received the 911 call, Murray was "frantic" and that he had to ask the doctor three times what Jackson's health condition was before Murray answered that there was none, despite the fact that he had been hooked up to an IV that was hanging nearby.
"Simply, that did not add up to me, doctors in the house, IV pole, IV hooked up to the patient; it simply did not seem normal," he said, before adding that Murray lied to him about giving Jackson any medications, including propofol. Senneff also alleged that there were inconsistencies in Murray's claim that he called 911 immediately, given the fact that when the EMTs arrived and attempted CPR, Jackson's skin was "very cool to the touch" and his eyes dilated. When asked if he witnessed any signs of life in Jackson, Senneff said, "No, I did not."
When Senneff's colleague Martin Blount took the stand, he also told the court that he did not see any signs of life from Jackson when they arrived on the scene, and added that he witnessed Murray sweeping bottles of Lidocaine into a black bag before Jackson was taken out of the room.
The final witness to testify Friday was Dr. Richelle Cooper, the attending ER physician who treated Jackson when he arrived at the hospital. Cooper recounted asking Murray for a full list of the medications Jackson was taking, as well as what he claimed had happened to cause Jackson's heart failure. Cooper said Murray thought Jackson was only dehydrated from his long rehearsals and revealed that the pop star was taking anti-anxiety drug Lorazepam, Flomax for an enlarged prostate and Valium. There was no mention of propofol.
Murray has pleaded not guilty to the charge of involuntary manslaughter. He faces four years in prison and the loss of his medical license.

"Rick Ross BACK!"....From Health Scare!
Rick Ross back! We told you earlier about his apparent health scare that occured just this afternoon. And though his camp took the time to release this twitvid recorded earlier on his private plane, there's no mention of a "seizure." I supposed everyone is moving on.........
I guess he wasn't going to let a seizure keep him down...CPR or not. Ricky Rozay just hopped on a private plane after his previous flight was grounded due to him going unconscious.
Meanwhile, Mr. Maybach Music is performing in Memphis tonight and opening a new Wingstop restaurant tomorrow. Yummy!

For anyone who couldn't make it to Madison Square Garden to catch Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour or didn't catch the HBO special Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden, don't fret. Mother Monster has your back.
Lady Gaga's Emmy Award-winning Monster Ball concert special will be released on DVD on November 21. The disc will include exclusive, previously unreleased footage.
If that's not enough for the Little Monsters out there, Born This Way the Remix album will also be available that same day. It'll feature 14 songs remixed by a number of DJs and artists, including breakout indie band Foster the People, Michael Woods and the Weeknd. While fans eagerly await news of what Gaga's next single off the chart-topping BTW will be, she's certainly been keeping busy, including beginning work on a follow-up album. Jessica Alba, Rachel Zoe, and Sofia Vergara Sparkle For the Decade of Difference Gala
Many stars came out to celebrate President Clinton's 65th birthday last night at The Clinton Foundation's Decade of Difference Gala at LA's Hollywood Palladium. Sticking with a blue and white theme, Jessica Alba stepped out in a sheer blouse paired with a navy skirt while Rachel Zoe wowed in a gown. Modern Family's Sofia Vergara chose a sexy, strapless LBD that complemented her fit figure. It was another date night for Jessica and her husband, Cash Warren, who dined at a table with friends Joel and Benji Madden. Rachel was also joined by her husband, Rodger Berman, but this time they left their well-dressed son, Skyler, at home. The dinner kicked off a weekend full of celebration honoring the former president's philanthropic organization. The events continue tonight with the Decade of Difference concert streaming live around the globe with performances from Usher, Lady Gaga, Kenny Chesney, Juanes and K?Naan, The Edge, and Bono.

LOS ANGELES — Britney Spears makes headlines at concerts, even when she's not performing. That's probably why Los Angeles radio station KIIS FM tapped the pop princess to guest-host their annual Wango Tango music festival along with Ryan Seacrest on Saturday night at the Staples Center.
The bill was a balance of pop and hip-hop, with acts like Ke$ha, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Selena Gomez, "Glee" 's Matthew Morrison, Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain, Jason Derülo, Far East Movement, New Boyz, Cobra Starship and newcomer Cody Simpson.
Backstage, the media room went into a frenzy when Spears arrived in a red, geometric-print dress and a beaming smile. Owning her "femme fatale" moniker, Spears worked the carpet for a few moments while all of the cameras in the room were pointing at her. It was the second red carpet appearance by Brit this week, after her Beverly Hills benefit on Wednesday night for the St. Bernard Project.

Spears' Femme Fatale collaborator Ke$ha, who was returning to the festival for the second time, said that an onstage collab between to the two would have to require one thing.
"That would have to include me finding her and attacking her," Ke$ha told MTV News, with the best intentions. "I'm planning on pouncing her."
While that never happened, at least not onstage, Ke$ha delivered on her promise of a set heavy on her glitter gun. And she assured us she knew the dos and don'ts of handling that kind of firepower.
"Do not spray yourself in the face with it," she said. "Do spray everybody else with it. That's pretty much it."
While Joe Jonas wasn't performing at the show, he took a break from recording his solo debut to catch up with almost everyone backstage.
"I didn't see Britney backstage, just said 'hello' to a couple of my friends," Jonas said. "Backstage is always [full of] people, especially having it at the Staples Center this time, I think compared to all the way out in the desert, it changes everything."
Also happy to have Wango Tango in Los Angeles were locals Far East Movement.
"Man, we grew up literally a few blocks away from here, and you can only imagine basketball games being played here," Kev Nish said. "So to come in here as performers, to be able to do our songs in this arena is a little crazy. We used to pass out CDs a few blocks [away], so we're very thankful. And the lineup is nuts, so we're extremely excited to be a part of this lineup."
